FreeBoard

Touted as a Summerboard replacement, FreeBoard has the potential to be so, but is not quite there yet. FreeBoard is an app by TheSpicyChicken (creators of Customize), and is available on the MMi installer source. The main feature that that app offers is a 5 icon dock, for free, on f/w 1.1.3 and newer. Previous to that, Kate (Caterpillar) was the only app that was able to achieve that, though it was TrialWare. Other features include: “Show Wallpaper”, “Hide Icon labels” and a toggle for the app itself. A nice feature additionally is that FreeBoard simply adds itself to the front page of customize,
leaving no additional icons on the springboard. My first impressions of that app were that it worked just fine. However, (I didn’t connect the dots at first) FreeBoard messes with running apps (Kate, Intelliscreen, Pysl, etc.), stoping them at random. additionally, when attempting to drag icons to the dock, it will fabricate a 6 icon dock; cutting off the last icon. For now, the bugs out-weigh the benefits of the app. But look out for that app, whether the Devs keep up, it will far surpass Summerboard.
